Please use Monday, March 16 to finish preparations for working from home. Per health recommendations, employees are encouraged to work remotely if possible and not come to campus. If you do need to come to campus, you must maintain the following health protocols from San Mateo County Health:

  • Clean your work surfaces with disinfecting wipes or other standard cleaners
  • If you need to borrow a laptop for working from home, please schedule your appointment by filling out this online form.

FOR TUESDAY, MARCH 17

  • All classes will resume as online or distance-education classes
  • Any classes that cannot be moved online will be adapted or canceled, and instructors will work with their deans to communicate those changes to students
  • All departments and offices should have a plan ready for working from home, and offering their services online via their website, Canvas, Zoom, email, telephone, or other distance options.
  • NEW: Access to campus will be restricted. If you need to get to your office or other campus location, you will need to show your ID to a Public Safety officer at the entrance.

CAMPUS RESTRICTIONS AS OF MARCH 17

Effective Tuesday, March 17, access will be restricted at all campuses and the District Office, due to orders issued by San Mateo County Health.

For the safety of employees, anyone who needs to access an office or any campus location should check in with the Public Safety officer at the campus entrance (see list of entrances below). Have your SMCCCD ID and any necessary keys, because buildings will be locked. Access will only be allowed Monday – Friday from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Each College will have a single point of entry/exit (other entries will be blocked):

  • Cañada College: Use The Loop Road off Farm Hill Blvd.

  • Skyline College: Use College Drive via Skyline Blvd (east side of campus)

Anyone on campus or District property must maintain the following protocols from San Mateo County Health:

  • People must stand or sit at least six feet apart
  • Clean your work surfaces with disinfecting wipes or other standard cleaners

Facilities has greatly increased cleaning on our campuses, using hospital-grade cleaners. However, they are low on supplies due to global shortages. Please be mindful that all spaces on campuses where employees visit must be cleaned prior to and after the employee’s visit. Therefore, all employees who can work remotely are strongly encouraged to do so.
